Citizens who qualify and are interested to register to vote can do so in person at the Town Clerk’s Office, Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additionally, you may register up until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Town Clerk’s Office 71 Mt. Vernon St.
Mail-in Voter Registration cards are available at the Winchester Post Office and the Winchester Public Library. Registrations must be postmarked by February 15, 2012 in order to be eligible to vote in the March 6th Presidential Primary.
Additionally, voters that are interested to change party affiliation may also do so up until Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Please be aware electors who are enrolled in either major party must pull that major parties ballot on Election Day. Voters who are listed as “NO PARTY” also known as Unaffiliated, have the option to pull any ballot on Election Day. Massachusetts’s election law has been amended so that if you are listed as “NO PARTY” and pull a major party ballot you will still remain as “NO PARTY” status after the election, thus avoiding disaffiliating later.
For those residents who become citizens of the United States after the final time for registration may appear before the Winchester Town Clerk beginning February 16, 2012 until March 5th, 2012 to register to vote and be eligible to vote on March 6th, 2012.
Any questions please contact the Winchester Town Clerk’s Office Monday – Friday 8am-4pm at 781-721-7130. Election information is also available on the Town’s official website at www.winchester.us on the Town Clerk’s homepage.
