WHS Softball Offers Youth Softball Clinic "Mastering Softball Basics"

  • February 28, 2011

It seems hard to believe with snow still piled high all over town, but spring sports are only a month or so away. Once again, the Winchester High School Softball program offers a three session spring clinic to get youth players ready for their upcoming softball seasons. Whether you are new to softball, a returning spring league player, or an experienced travel team member, Mastering Softball Basics is a clinic opportunity you should not pass up. WHS Varsity Coach Steve Swymer and his staff of experienced coaches and players will work with clinic participants on all aspects of the game. Players will receive instruction and reinforce their softball skills through a number of drills and workout stations. Batters will hit in the WHS indoor batting cage; base-runners will practice base path strategy; and fielders will work on throwing, catching, and outfield skills. Players will be grouped by age and skill level. The clinic will take place at the Winchester High School Gym/Field House on Saturday March 12, March 19, and Sunday March 27. New this year – split sessions. Players in grades 3, 4, and 5 will attend from 3:00 to 4:30 pm and grades 6, 7, and 8 will attend from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. Cost $75. Visit www.eteamz.com/FriendsofWHSsoftball to register/pay online.    Call 781-729-7661 or email FriendsofWHSsoftball@gmail.com for more information about this great clinic.
