Winchester Volleyball Serve for the Cure Saturday

WHS VOLLEYBALL TO SERVE FOR THE CURE ON SATURDAY

The traditional black and red colors that represent the Winchester Sachems will be put aside on Saturday October 6th when the WHS girls volleyball teams meet Melrose on Winchester’s volleyball court.  For one evening both programs’ colors will be PINK.

For its community service project the WHS girls volleyball teams have arranged a SERVE FOR THE CURE game against Melrose on Saturday evening.  The games begin at 5:30 and the evening culminates with the varsity match at 7pm.  Admission is $5 per person with students sporting Sachem gear or dressed in pink admitted for free.  The teams will sell commemorative SERVE FOR THE CURE t-shirts, pizza, and refreshments and will raffle off a stocked SERVE FOR THE CURE gift basket.  The team will donate all proceeds from the evening to the new Winchester Hospital Center for Cancer Care at 620 Washington Street.

“Our players are so excited to step up and take part in this project,” notes Winchester Head Coach John Fleming.  “SERVE FOR THE CURE is always the highlight of our regular season and spectators will be treated to a spirited series of volleyball games.”  The evening begins at 5:30 with the Freshman and Junior Varsity matches followed by the Varsity teams going head to head at 7 pm.  Please enter the high school by the left parking as you enter via Skillings Road.  For more information call 781-729-7661.
