The Winton Club of Winchester, which is presenting its 2012 Annual Cabaret Fundraiser, “It’s About TIME” January 31 through February 4, 2012, held a Cabaret Sponsor Appreciation Night at the Winchester Hospital Cancer Center, to thank the many sponsors who have generously supported the Cabaret production. The evening included refreshments and a tour of the state-of-the-art Cancer Care facility, for which the Winton Club recently completed a five-year $500,000 pledge commitment raised through the proceeds of the annual cabaret production, and many other Winton Club volunteer fundraising activities, including the proceeds of the sales at the Winton Club Gift Shop and Holiday Gift Fair (November 16-18, 2011) at Winchester Hospital.
The 2012 Cabaret theme, “It’s About TIME”, is fitting, since Winchester Hospital is commemorating the 100th Anniversary of its founding in 1912. This extraordinary show brings to the stage performances with musical selections relating to the dimension of TIME and its relationship with each and every one of us.
This year’s producer, Jean Buckley, a 13- year member of the Winton Club, recounts her excitement at being asked to offer her abilities as producer. Since accepting this role in November 2011, Jean and 50+ Committee Chairs have undertaken the task of managing the hundreds of performers, stage crew, costumes, musicians, member volunteers and fundraising coordination. She says,
“The amount of TIME committed by so many to make this show a reality is phenomenal. Our Cabaret Time Clock is now ticking away as we get closer to a great show!
