5 Things: Georgountzos Holds Open Reception Tonight

Here is some information to get you through Thursday, Sept. 27.

1. The clouds are rolling out today for a mostly sunny afternoon with temperatures in the high 60s and high 40s for the day, according to the National Weather Service.

2. State Rep. Candidate George Georgountzos is hosting a reception tonight from 6:30 to 9:30 at the Bear Hill Golf Club at 5 North St., Stoneham. Radio Host Todd Feinberg will make a special appearance. Hosts of the reception include Ted Menounos and Jack & Mary Lou Bracciotti.

3. The first meeting of the Teen Book Club is today at 3:30 p.m. in the Small Meeting Room at the Winchester Public Library. It's open to teens in grades sixth through 12 and meets the last Thursday of every month. Talk about what you've read recently, sample some tasty treats and pick up a copy of the book that will be discussed at the next meeting, The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier.

4. Patch is hosting a live chat with Gov. Deval Patrick today. This is an opportunity to hear the governor discuss a variety of topics and answer your questions. To join our chat, head on over to our homepage from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m.

5. Patch is all about the community. One way we want residents to share happenings in the community is to keep Winchester up-to-date with the latest fall sports. You can do this in a number of ways. Check here to see how easy it is to share your team photos, game recaps and shout outs to MVPs.
