Winchester native and injured MBTA Officer Richard Donohue Jr. will be waving a flag at Game 3 of the NHL Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday night, according to the officer's Facebook page.

Kim Donohue, an Exeter native and Richard's wife, said she was excited to announce that her husband has been asked to wave the flag for the Bruins playoff game. The Bruins, who lead the series 2-0, take on the Penguins at 8 p.m. and the game will be aired on NBCSN, according to ESPN.

"It has been a long (six) weeks with a lot of ups and downs, and it is finally time for Dic to have some fun and get out of a hospital setting, even if for only (one) night!" said Kim on the site. "I am so unbelievably proud of my husband and couldn't be happier that he gets to show his true Boston pride! Sean (Collier), the first wave of that flag will be for you." Collier, a friend of Richard's and a MBTA officer, was killed allegedly by the Boston Marathon bombing suspects while on duty.
