Sachems in Action This Weekend

Just about every Winchester High team is competing today or Saturday.

 

Today is Friday, Jan. 4. Here are five things you need to know:

1.) The Winchester High girls’ basketball team will host Reading at 7 p.m. tonight; the boys’ hoops team will be at Reading at the same time. The Sachems’ boys’ swim team will be at Belmont at 4 p.m., the girls’ gymnastics team will face Arlington at 4:30 p.m. at Arlington High School.

On Saturday, the wrestling team will host Chicopee, Lawrence and Mansfield in a quad meet at 10 a.m. The girls’ ice hockey team will be at Woburn’s O’Brien Rink at 6 p.m.; the boys’ team will play right after at 8 p.m.

3.) See this month’s roundup of restaurant news near Winchester, including a new restaurant opening in Lexington Center.

4.) See this weekend’s open houses in Winchester, including a colonial on Ledgewood for nearly $1.6 million.

5.) Today and Saturday should be partly sunny with highs in the high 30s, according to the National Weather Service. There could be some snow showers Sunday morning.
