The town of Winchester saw its unemployment rate hold steady in the month of December, according to numbers released this week.

The state Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development released its local unemployment numbers and Winchester saw its rate remain the same month to month at 4.4 percent. Last December's rate was 5.5 percent.

The unemployment rates for area towns follow:

•  Medford's rate remained the same between November and Decmber at 4.4 percent. December 2010's rate was 5.5 percent.
•  Woburn saw it's month to month rate hold steady at 5.3 percent. Last year's rate was 6.9 percent.
