WFEE to Host 10th Annual Trivia Bee at Winchester Town Hall
The Winchester Foundation for Educational Excellence is slated to host their 10th annual Trivia Bee on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. at Winchester Town Hall.
Get your thinking caps ready, as the Winchester Foundation for Educational Excellence's 10th annual Trivia Bee kicks off in early February at Winchester Town Hall, according to a WFEE press statement.
The WFEE Trivia Bee is slated for Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, according to the statement.
"The (Trivia) Bee is a community tradition that allows you to indulge your passion for minutia while raising money to benefit Winchester’s teachers and students," reads the statement.
Seven teams of three people compete in each round, and the winners of each round will advance to the championship round, according to the statement.
Fifth grade students from each of Winchester’s elementary schools will participate in the first round of the Trivia Bee, according to the statement. Last year's winner was Vinson-Owen School.
Admission to the Trivia Bee is free, but for those that can't attend, the event will be broadcast live on WinCam, Channel 8 on Comcast or Channel 36 on Verizon, according to the statement. Brian Milauskas of KidStock and Superintendent Bill McAlduff will serve ad Bee Masters during the event, according to the statement.
Book Ends, last year's Trivia Bee winner, will be serving as the event sponsor, according to the statement. WFEE is partnering with Book Ends to hold a "Bee on a Book" raffle, and a fake bee will be moved around the store between now and Feb. 6 and for those that find the bee will be able to enter a drawing to win a $50 Book Ends gift certificate, according to the statement.
The winner of the Trivia Bee will be able to keep the event trophy at their home or place of business for a year and currently can be found at Book Ends.
WFEE is currently funding teacher grants that help children in every Winchester classroom, according to the statement.
"This year alone WFEE has provided nearly $140,000 for projects that help our students excel," reads the statement. "WFEE counts on the success of fundraisers like the Trivia Bee to keep the Foundation’s grants program vibrant."
The team entry fee is $300, and the entry form is available at the WFEE website, according to the statement. All proceeds benefit WFEE in support of classroom projects and teacher professional development, the statement adds.
