Winchester High School Feasibility Study Delayed Two Months

The Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) Board will now review Winchester’s proposal at its April 3 meeting.

The following is from the Winchester Public Schools.

The Winchester School District and the Educational Facilities Planning and Building Committee (EFPBC – the Town of Winchester’s Building Committee) received comments this week from the MSBA on the High School Feasibility Study Preliminary Design Program (PDP) submission.

Based on these notes, the EFPBC, its Design Team (SMMA Architects) and Skanska (Owner’s Project Manager) will be taking more time to provide greater detail on the Educational Program Summary and Site Selection components.

As a result, the MSBA has also requested that Winchester adjust its submission schedule for the preferred alternative until Feb. 14, 2013 for an April 3rd MSBA Board Meeting.  The original schedule for the Feasibility Study had the MSBA Board reviewing the proposal for a WHS project at their January 30, 2013 meeting.  The additional time will allow the EFPBC, and their Design Team to continue its work in finalizing the Preferred Schematic Report (PSR) now due to the MSBA on February 14, 2013.  For more information see our website: http://www.winchesterhsproject.com.

Winchester High School should be condemned. Says a lot
about Winchester. They don't care really about anything besides
getting there kid into college. It's a pit and the project will never
happen.
