Nine Ducklings Rescued from Winchester Storm Drain

La Patisserie employees sprung into action Friday morning to help their web-footed friend Baguette.

For five years, a duck named Baguette has come to the bushes in La Patisserie’s backyard to have her ducklings. This year, Baguette, named by the bakery’s chef/owner Stephen Pazyra, had nine ducklings. However, on Friday morning, Baguette and her ducklings were nowhere to be found. Two La Patisserie employees, Joevana Gilbert and Marylin Plank, eventually heard Baguette and the dad quacking away near the train station and went to go check on them. There, they found that all of Baguette’s nine ducklings had fallen into a storm drain and were trapped. Gilbert and Plank called the Department of Public Works for help, but in the meantime, they were able to bring six of the ducklings to safety. Winchester’s water and sewer supervisor, Paul …

King Gas: Saving You Money or Scamming You?

Woburn Police are investigating several complaints regarding the discount gas station.

UPDATE: Monday, April 23: Jacqueline Eskanian tells Woburn Patch that she operates the two King Gas stations on Main Street in Woburn through a legal entity that is not King Petroleum, Inc. In an email to Woburn Patch, Eskanian said her company running the Main Street stations “sells a good product and does not scam its customers.” Thursday, April 19:   You leave your house and realize your car's gas gauge is on "E." You have $20 in your wallet and think to yourself, 'I'll pick up $20 now and fill my tank later.' But when you pull into the gas station, the attendant gives you $40 instead of the $20 you requested. And then demands payment.  Has this happened to you? It's happening to many people at the King Petroleum gas stations in Woburn…

I went to them to take care of the bill but they denied the whole thing yet I have two witnesses and plenty of proof. And I've seen happen to many people there even before it was kings. But if it assisted before they should have either fixed it or …   more ›

New restaurant could be up and running by end of summer.
