Updated at 3 p.m. Thursday A lane on the Main Street bridge is closed during repairs to the abutment, according to the town website. "Due to ongoing construction at the Center Falls Dam and the Main Street bridge near the Town Center, the town has temporarily closed the parking lane on the south side of the bridge," reads a press statement on the site. After shutting down its operation for several days, the Starbucks in Winchester Center will reopen Wednesday morning, according to a company spokesperson. Starbucks, located at 542 Main St., was closed from April 15 to April 23 while improvements were made to the store. We reached out to Superintendent William McAlduff's office to find out what the tentative last day of school is for Winchester Public Schools after having to cancel school a handful of times due to poor weather. Drivers who are considering a switch to electric vehicles or current vehicle owners looking for a place nearby to charge their rides have a couple of places to find their outlet. Charging stations in the Winchester region include 4 Grant St. in Lexington, and Alewife Transit Station and Porter Square Shopping Center in Cambridge, according to crowd-sourced CarStations website. A reader recently submitted a "You Ask, Patch Answers" question about where things stand with the Wedgemere Station project. So, here's what we found out. The final phase of the Wedgemere Station project is expected to be finished this spring, according to an MBTA spokeswoman. With a special election slated for this spring to fill the Senate seat formerly occupied by Secretary of State John Kerry, local election departments, including the Winchester Town Clerk's office, across the state are scrambling to organize. Some have asked how much the special election will cost Winchester. I asked Winchester Town Clerk Mary Ellen Lannon about the situation in Winchester. For our latest "You Ask, Winchester Patch Answers," a reader asked: When is the last day of school for Winchester Public Schools? We contacted the superintendent's office as well as the Winchester High School office on Thursday to find out the answer. After having four days off, the last day of school was pushed back to June 24, according to the superintendent's office. However, with winter not over yet there is a possibility the date could be changed should more school days be canceled. Meanwhile, the Winchester High School graduation is slated for June 2, according to the High School office.
