Jane Blair of ARTMATTERS Presents

                     The Italian RENAISSANCE

 Tuesday, September 18 10:30 a.m.                  Pond Room

(Coffee and cookies available at 10 a.m.)

Those of us who have heard programs presented by ARTMATTERS know how wonderful they have been.  ARTMATTERS brings us large, colorful, fine art reproductions of the artwork being discussed and displays them across the front of the Pond Room so we can look at all of them during the entire presentation and afterwards. The presentations are lively and provocative.  There is an interesting discussion after the presentation ends and everyone always has a terrific time.  On Tuesday, September 18 at 10:30 a.m. we will take a close look at the paintings of the Italian RENAISSANCE.  Jane will be back on May 21 to conclude the Italian Renaissance with Leonardo Da Vinci.

The Italian RENAISSANCE

After almost 1000 years of "dark ages", the genius of Leonardo Da Vinci, and Michelangelo led the way for a "Rebirth" of learning, art and humanity. They helped to cast a bright new light on culture, and to rekindle a love of learning, which encouraged science, new technology and a growing humanity. Join us for a look at their lives, their work, and a discussion of the Italian Renaissance.    (2 parts with Leonardo Da Vinci)
