 ag.&nbsp\; The Magnificat is the song of praise to God that Mary proclai
 med upon being greeted by her cousin Elizabeth.&nbsp\; The most well-kno
 wn setting of this text was composed by J.S. Bach.&nbsp\; Although most 
 people do not associate the text with Christmas\, Bach originally perfor
 med his setting of the Magnificat at Vespers on Christmas Day.&nbsp\; Th
 erefore\, it is only appropriate that St. Mary&rsquo\;s music program se
 lect this Marian canticle of praise on the cusp of our Christmas celebra
 tions.&nbsp\; Consider taking a night away from crowded mall shopping to
  hear this inspiring piece and enter into the Christmas season with this
  joyous hymn of praise and thanksgiving.&nbsp\;
