Collaborating with Arlin gton Center for the Arts for the fourth year\, The Phantom Tollbooth foc uses on the importance of reading. This musical version of a modern tale follows the adventures of Milo\, a boy who must save the princesses Rhy me and Reason and reunite the brother Kings of Dictionopolis and Digitop olis. Aided by a trusty time-keeping dog\, Tock\, Milo successfully brin gs harmony to the Land of Wisdom and learns many things about words and numbers along his journey. Perhaps the most important lesson he takes wi th him\, however\, is that everything we learn has a purpose and whateve r we do affects everything and everyone. When he returns home\, he reali zes there is never a reason to be bored in a world full of so many thing s to discover. \;\nThe production features Winchester resident Joel Ruben-Meyer\, a 6th grade student at the McCall Middle School\, as Milo. It also includes 33 ACTors ages 7-12 from 10 surrounding towns and citi es. Director Thomas Martinez describes Tollbooth as "a fun and musical j ourney through an imaginary land\, with a script that highlights the imp ortance and depth of language."  \;\nThe Phantom Tollbooth will be p erformed at The Arlington Center for the Arts at 41 Foster Street in Arl ington.
