En Ka Society Announces Second Quarter Grants

The En Ka Society of Winchester is pleased to announce the recipients of its Second Quarter Grants.  The following organizations received financial gifts for use as described:

Boy Scout of America Troop 503 Granted money for two White Water Canoes which will be shared with other troops.

Brio Integrated Theatre Granted money for a painting workshop open to Winchester residents on March Saturday March 15th at 10:30 AM at St. Eulalia’s Parish Church.

The Children’s Room (A non-profit facility in Arlington, MA that offers Grief Programs for families.)  Granted money for art supplies and books.

EMARC (A tennis program for disabled youth).  Granted money for Winchester tennis court rental fees.

Heritage Singers, McCall Middle School (A non-audition choral group).  Granted money for uniforms, music and two need- based scholarships.

McCall Extracurricular Activities Program Granted money for the after school Art Club, Photography Club, Jazz Band, Jubilation Singers and Poetry Club.

Mission of Deeds Granted money for beds, mattresses, and cribs.

Multicultural Network of Winchester Granted money for the “True Story Theater” a forum for the Winchester in Transition community forum.

Swim Winchester Granted money to rent space for a community planning forum for a town pool.

Westley Street Tenants’ Association Granted money for miscellaneous communal supplies and partial payment for tickets for a Stoneham Theatre show for tenants.

WHS Music Department Granted money for a set of Timpani Drums.

WHS Technical Crew Granted money for two new Altman Comet spotlights.

Winchester ABC House Granted money to replace a second refrigerator.

Winchester Housing Authority Granted money for four Air Purifiers for tenants with medical certification for air purification.

Winchester Historical Society Granted money for an archival exhibit case.

Winchester Recreation Department  Granted money for one “Concert on the Common” band.

The En Ka Society is a volunteer non-profit women’s organization that provides aid, through volunteer service and fundraising, to local charities and organizations, which are charitable in nature, and benefit the Winchester community. Local non-profit organizations may apply for En Ka grants, which are awarded quarterly.

Since 2000, the En Ka Society has awarded over $1 Million through more than 400 grants to local organizations that address the needs of students and youth, the elderly, the physically challenged and non-profit organizations devoted to providing community enrichment and/or health and social services .  To learn more about the En Ka Society, Membership, the En Ka Exchange Consignment Shop, Grants, and to download a Grant Application, please visit  www.enkasociety.org
