All Massachusetts high school students are invited to create a two-minute video that tells the next governor what is most important to them. This is a great chance for students to highlight issues they believe are important to the future of the Commonwealth, and to suggest solutions.

Submissions start Feb. 1 through March 31.

The contest winners will be announced May 5. First place will receive $1,000; second place will receive $500; third place will receive $250.

Sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts, all entries must be submitted online by high school students who are at least 13 years old. Videos can be shot using video cameras, computers, smartphones or tablets.

After two terms, Governor Deval Patrick will not seek a third term, and the election for a new governor will be held on Nov. 4, 2014.

Let gubernatorial candidates know what students care most about and ensure younger voices and perspectives are heard. To apply online: http://review.wizehive.com/contests/lwvma-dear-future-governor-student-video-contest
