Massachusetts Vest-A-Dog 2014 K9 Calendar now available
Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog’s 2014 Calendar in full color featuring all Massachusetts police dogs, is now available for a $10 donation, online and at select businesses, as well. All proceeds will help support Massachusetts K-9, providing bulletproof K-9 vests, essential K-9 equipment, and funding for training and dogs.
“Your donation of $10 for our calendar truly helps make a difference to insuring the safety of our hard-working police dogs, who provide tremendously valuable services to keep our communities safe,” notes Kathy Hinds, Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog President, “Our 2014 calendar K-9s represent the breadth of support Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog provides to K-9 programs across the state; from cruiser kennels and over-heat-detector/alarm and remote door popper systems, bite suits, K9 First Aid kits and helping fund K9 training conferences and even help purchase the dogs themselves.”

K-9s and some of their handlers in the calendar are from city/town police departments in Belmont, Boston, Douglas, Holliston, Holyoke, Salem, Sutton, and Westford, as well as the Massachusetts State Police.

This is the eighth calendar offered by the non-profit, and the third exclusively featuring the work of photographer Jonathan Kozowyk, whose extraordinary efforts successfully captured K-9s (and their handlers) at work.

ABOUT Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog
Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog, founded in 2000, is an independent, all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 organization, whose mission is to Support Massachusetts Police Dogs, by helping provide bulletproof K9 vests, essential equipment, training & dogs. Generous donors and tireless volunteers have provided over 370 bulletproof vests (including 24 specialized SWAT vests at $2400 each) across Massachusetts. Since September 2011, in four rounds of grants, grant awards have totalled $72,000 for bite suits, bite sleeves, cruiser kennels, cruiser heatdetector/alarm, cruiser heat detector/alarm & remote door popper systems, a narcotics safe, SWAT training equipment, scent-detection training equipment, and funding - for K9 program implementation, 2 K9 training conferences, and purchasing 5 dogs for police work. Additional K9 equipment sponsorship and community partnership fundraising (Beverly, Douglas, Holliston, Marlborough, Salem, Raynham, & Westford) has also
provided over $70k, bringing a grand total of support for Massachusetts K9s to $142,000 – not including K9 vests & K9 First Aid kits!
