Ash Wednesday Service
On Ash Wednesday, February 22, we will hold a service in Ripley Chapel at 7 pm with readings, reflections, and the opportunity for anyone who would like to receive ashes. Ash Wednesday is a day of reflection and repentance and it marks the beginning of Lent. Many think this is a uniquely Catholic practice, but it is common in much of Christendom, being celebrated also by Episcopalians, Lutherans, Methodists, Presbyterians, Congregationalists, Anglicans and some Baptist denominations.
