Blessing of the Animals

Many households have animals as an integral part of the family.  Our pets offer us an insight into devotion and dependence.  They provide companionship and comfort.  We are offering them a gift in return.  On November 7th at 12:30 pm the Second Congregational Church of Winchester, UCC (485 Washington St) encourages you to bring your pets: dogs, cats, birds, lizards, rabbits, pot-bellied pigs, fish, tortoises and turtles and other s to a Blessing of the Animals.  This brief ceremony will celebrate their impact on our lives and offer them a blessing.   We will also have a moment of blessing, silence and vigil at the beginning of the ceremony for animals who are unfortunately involved with inhumane, unethical treatment.   There is, of course, no cost for this ceremony, but if you would like to bring pet food, we will pass it along as a gift to a local animal shelter.  For more information contact Don Remick at revrem@comcast.net or 781-369-1218
