Cnadlelight Service of Lessons and Carols

This year's Lessons and Carols service will include original works of Boris Ord, Eric Gritton, Glenn Rudolf, and Herbert Howells, with carol arrangements of John Rutter, Dale Grotenhuis, Simon Preston and Ralph Vaughan Williams. Brass Quintet and Timpani will accompany the three Epiphany Choirs in candlelit procession as we hear the scripture lessons proscribed in Cambridge, England, at Kings' College Chapel, during World War I. Hearing, in particular, the prophecy of peace, from the book of Isaiah, and reflecting on England's precarious life at that time, makes the lessons from Creation to the Birth in Bethlehem full of power and hope. Come to share this hope, in the beauty of the music it has inspired and the community we all celebrate.
