Host Families Still Needed

Here is some information to get you through Monday, Aug. 27.

1. Late tonight there is a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms with temperatures in the low 70s, according to the National Weather Service. The sun will be shining with a high of 85 degrees during the day.

2. Youth For Understanding USA is still seeking volunteers and host families to mentor and host high school exchange students. Students and host families are supported by local YFU representatives who form a nationwide network of more than 1500 volunteers. Check about this opportunity.

3. A lively discussion on Patch is still going about a new law signed by Gov. Deval Patrick which would prevent cities and towns from instituting breed specific dog rules. You neighbors are discussing if those types of rules unfairly target a specific breed and punish dogs for having bad owners. .

5.  at 82. Armstrong recently had heart surgery. He was part of the team of NASA astronauts aboard Apollo 11 in 1969, the first spacecraft to land on the Moon.
