Winchester Aware, the town's emergency notification system, allows residents to receive alerts regarding emergencies and other important community news, according to the town website.

"The emergency notification system enables the town of Winchester to provide essential information quickly in a variety of situations, such as severe weather, fires, floods, unexpected road closures, or the evacuation of buildings or neighborhoods," reads the website. "You will receive time-sensitive messages wherever you specify, such as your home, cell, or business phone, email, text messages, hearing impaired receiving devices, and more."
