Stoneham recently came to an agreement with the MBTA to take over the abandoned railway easement that would be part of the proposed Tri-Community bike path.

The bike path has been a proposal for decades in Stoneham.

The agreement would allow Stoneham to take over ownership of the easement for $1, according to a report in the Boston Globe.

The property would be part of the proposed Tri-Community Greenway bike path in Stoneham along the railroad line, through Woburn past Horn Pond and Winchester by the Wedgemere MBTA station.
