Last Day to Register to Vote
Here is some information to get you through Friday, Aug. 17.
1. There is a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms this evening, according to the National Weather Serivce. The morning will be mostly sunny with a high of 88 degrees and a low of 66.
2. Today is the last day to register to vote for the state primary on Sept. 6. The Winchester Board of Registrars is hosting a Voter Registration Session at the Public Safety Building all day. 4. The Catholic Cemetery Association started a mobile outreach program and is setting up an informational kiosk in the near the Winchester--Woburn line. The kiosk will be located at the Washington Street entrance this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will also depend on the weather, which has a 40 percent chance of rain in the morning.
5. A 99-year lease with the MBTA for a parcel of land that starts in Stoneham and runs through Winchester to Woburn as part of the Tri-Community Bike Path is up for discussion. Stoneham, Woburn and Winchester leaders must discuss the cost before signing the lease. Stoneham's Town Administrator said the path needs to be cleaned up by removing some existing dirt to make it an acceptable as a bike path. .
