Learn About Playtime at Dog Workshop

The Middlesex Fells Dog Owner Group is offering a free workshop for dog owners to get a better understanding of dogs' interactions in off-leash areas.

The Middlesex Fells Dog Owner Group is helping owners have a better understanding of their dogs' actions during play time.

Liz Shaw, the owner of Magical Mutt, will be leading a discussion tonight at the Botume House about dogs' body language and interactions in off-leash areas such as the one at Sheepfold in the . This workshop is to help owners better understand the behaviors they see with their dogs.

Some of the topics will be how dogs play together, how they communicate when they are not having fun, how to recognize healthy play and how to be prepared to intervene when dogs are not having fun or not playing nice.

Shaw will show a variety of video clips to help lead the discussions.

The free workshop is from 7 to 9 p.m. at 4 Woodland Rd. in Stoneham. Attendees should make other arrangements for their dogs.
