When the power's out, you want to know when it's coming back, right?
Assuming you still have an Internet connection, one source to check is NSTAR's own website. The utility has long had an interactive map of power outages. The company has recently started touting improvements to that map. New features include showing the path of storms as they come through and what's being done to get power restored in your community.
The map's new features may get a workout soon, as New England expects a big rain storm on Wednesday.
