I am a private drum instructor with over 20 years of teaching experience, working with children and adults, beginners to advanced students.  As a private instructor I have worked with hundreds of individual students, focusing on topics ranging form rudiments and basic coordination to advanced stylistic development.  I have also worked intensively with college-bound music students to prepare them for admissions auditions.

As a professional instructor I take teaching seriously.  I make a focused effort with each student to be productive at every lesson, and I ask them to make the same commitment. For my part I get to know each student's aptitudes, interests, and aspirations, and work to provided lessons, material, and assessments to meet each student's unique capabilities and needs.

For the benefit of my students, I have created an original instruction curriculum, assembled a large reference library of teaching materials, and have published an instructional book entitled Building a Drumset Vocabulary.

I offer instruction in a wide range of areas, including:

Music reading skills

Coordination of hand and foot

Building speed and control

Music styles: rock, funk, jazz, latin, blues and more.

I teach at my home studio in Winchester, MA, 10 miles north of Boston and convenient to routes 93 and 128.

My studio is equipped with two complete drumsets; practice pads; Pro Tools recording system, for recording a student's lesson and to record students playing along to recorded music; a computer and monitor for viewing drum instructional videos;  sound system to listen to and play along with CDs/MP3s; and a waiting area for students and parents.

I teach 1/2 or 1 hour lessons. I schedule lessons on a monthly basis throughout the calendar year.

I have been playing professionally for over 30 years, performing with acts in New England and around the country in a wide range of styles including: jazz, rock, R&B, funk, latin, and blues styles.
