Local Celebrities Hit the Dance Floor to Support Autism Housing Pathways

On February 11, from 7 to 9 pm, local celebrities will join members of the MIT Ballroom Dance Team at St. Mary's Church Parish Hall, 158 Washington Street, in Winchester to support Winchester non-profit Autism Housing Pathways. State Rep. Jason Lewis, author Susan Senator, Sgt. Dan Perenick of the Winchester Police Department, St. Mary's Youth Minister Sal Caraviello, Rebecca Blake of Lexington Montessori School, and autism parent Tina Sylvester of North Andover will participate in “Dancing with the Celebrities”. The evening will feature a group lesson, social dancing, a showcase by the MIT dancers, and the main event -- a competition where the celebrities and their MIT partners go head to head, with each couple dancing a tango, swing or jive.

Over 10,000 Massachusetts young people with autism will be scrambling to find affordable, supportive housing over the next 20 years. Autism Housing Pathways (AHP) provides information & training to families and individuals on housing, supportive services and available funding streams, empowering them to create new, innovative housing models that are safe and sustainable. AHP also works with service providers and public officials to make them aware of the appropriate supports necessary for individuals with autism to be successful in a residential setting.

Tickets are $75, $35 for seniors and students. The snow date for this event is March 3rd. For more information and tickets, go to www.autismhousingpathways.net or call 617-893-8217. Tickets will also be available at Bookends in Winchester as of January 24th, or at the door.
