WCMS Faculty Recital featuring Drummer Andrew Jones - Postponed!

Tonight's concert with faculty member Andrew Jones has just been postponed due to illness.  We'll reschedule for late January - please check the WCMS for an update.  Sorry!

Winchester Community Music School's Faculty Recital Series continues on Monday, December 13 at 7:30 PM with a jazz recital featuring drummer Andrew Jones. The concert will be held at
WCMS in Nichols Performance Hall, 407 Highland Ave., Winchester. A "Meet the Artist Reception" immediately follows the recital. Admission is free and open to the public. The 2010-
2011 WCMS Recital Series is presented thanks to the continued and generous sponsorship of the Winchester Rotary Club.

Andrew will be joined by his musical colleagues: Mark Early, saxophone; Peter Kenagy,
trumpet; and Rusty Scott, Hammond organ. The concert celebrates works by the legendary jazz
artist Duke Ellington. The quartet will perform a few works composed by Andrew as well. Andrew Jones is a professional musician that resides in Beverly, MA. He holds degrees from
the Berklee College of Music in both performance and music education. He has performed in Fenway Park, The Blue Note NYC, The House of Blues Boston and New Orleans, Avery Fisher
Hall at Lincoln Center, and with artists such as Charles Neville, Esperanza Spalding, Ronnie Spector, La La Brooks (The Crystals), The Click Five, Jenny Dee & The Deelingquents, and Brad Byrd. Andrew has been a member of the WCMS faculty since 2009.

This event is the fourth recital in the School's popular Faculty Recital Series of eight concerts presented for the community. The next concert in the series takes place on February 14th featuring Alex Vavilov on viola with Olga Talroze on piano. They will perform works by Bach and Brahms. WCMS is pleased to have the Winchester Rotary Club as the continuing sponsor of this wonderful community program.
