The Jubilee Trio, composed of Baritone Robert Honeysuckle, Contralto Marion Dry and Pianist Leslie Amper, sung several renditions of folk hymns and slave ballads in support of the 20th Anniversary.

“We're kicking off our 20-year anniversary by bringing these amazing singers to Winchester,” stated Co-Chair of the WMCN, Robin Smith. “We called it 'Giving Voice' because the WMCN saw it as, not only giving voice to beautiful music, but also giving voice to the cries for social justice and equality which our celebrations this time of year are all about.”

Jubilee music is steeped in Biblical tradition of regularly celebrating joy and freedom, along with the added acknowledgement of breaking the bounds of slavery.
