Winchester Cooperative Theater's production of 'Beauty and the Beast'

Show opened last weekend. Final performances Saturday and Sunday.

 

's production of "Beauty and the Beast" opened last weekend. Truly a "tale as old as time," this beloved story of the redeeming power of true love.  

As the story begins, local beauty, Belle  who is deemed odd by villagers because of her love of books  has caught the eye of the hero Gaston, who looking for a wife.

Gaston tries to win Belle's affection singing all about "ME" although she is looking for much more than her provincial life.  

The excitement mounts as Belle's parents, Bernice and Maurice, and their dog, Justine get lost in the woods, finding an enchanted castle where they are a mysterious castle where he is imprisoned by a hideous beast and servants who have been transformed into household objects, who sing their wish to be “Human Again”.

Directed by Cathy Alexander,  the show features a cast of fourth- sixth graders and some of the Winchester Cooperative Theater’s most ambitious costuming, scenery, musical numbers and choreography to date.  

Special effects and live animals are just a few of the special surprises that await you during the show. Don't miss this show!

Final  Performances take place on Saturday, March 31 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m and Sunday, April 1 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at McCall Middle School, Winchester.
