The blizzard forced Winchester businesses to operate on different hours, while residents struggled to dig themselves out of about two feet of snow following the blizzard of 2013.

When the blizzard hit the Winchester area Friday and didn't conclude until midday Saturday, the town and its residents were left shoveling and snowblowing their driveways, walkways and other parts of their properties for hours.

For example, Mystic Valley Parkway residents reported spending a few hours shoveling their properties, and even those with snowblowers labored initially to clear a path to expedite the snow removal process.

Aside from snow, several Winchester homeowners had to contend with power outages at the height of the storm, according to an NSTAR power outage map. However, power was restored to all homes by Saturday evening, according to a power outage map.

Meanwhile, Winchester businesses were dealt a tough hand, as a statewide driving ban, which ran from 4 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Saturday, limited their opportunities to make money and forced some to close early, while others could not open on Saturday due to the blizzard conditions.
