Today is Thursday, May 24, 2012. Here are five things you need to know about:

1. Potential Rain: The National Weather Service is predicting showers mainly after 2 p.m. and areas of fog before 11 a.m. on a mostly cloudy 74 degree day. The evening will be cloudy as well with a chance of showers after 1 a.m.

2. Pattycake Place: Drop in every Thursday morning from 10 to 11 a.m for children under 2 years and their parents or caregivers. There will be songs, stories and fingerplays for the first 15 minutes and toys, music and sharing for the last 45 minutes at the .

3. The Singing, Ringing Tree: Kids ages 5 and older can join Sarah Salerno Thomas in the large meeting room for a theatrical presentation of The Singing, Ringing Tree from 3 to 4:15 p.m. at the Winchester Public Library. Tickets are available in the Children's Room.

4. : The holds weekly International Drop-In Gatherings from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at on Main Street. This event is open to everyone, inlcluding children.

6. Meeting recap: The  as a response to Winchester's increasing enrollment at Tuesday's school committee meeting. If this map if approved in June, it will be implemented for the 2013-2014 school year.

Also at the meeting, the  announced its donation of $48,435 to Winchester Public Schools for technology tools to be used in the classroom. Read .
