Mahoney's Winter Market Opens Saturday in Winchester

Mahoney's second annual Winter Market opens at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12.

Dozens of vendors will be displaying their wares when Mahoney's second annual Winter Market kicks off Saturday morning at the Garden Center located at 242 Cambridge St.

The Winter Market, which opens Jan. 12, will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday until March 16, according to a Mahoney's Garden Center press statement. Local farmers, artisans and other area businesses will be selling their products, including root vegetables, herbs, fruits, cheeses, meats, seafood, baked breads, desserts, and olive oils, plus select jewelry and clothing, according to the statement.

"It’s amazing to see the variety of fresh vegetables grown in winter at our local farms," Pamela Vasques, event coordinator for Mahoney’s Garden Centers, said in the statement. "Plus, with all the other delicious foods and vendors – well, it doesn’t get any better than this."

A few changes are in store for the Winter Market in its second year, according to Mahoney's spokeswoman Lisa Roberts.

"Mahoney’s received a few requests for more produce vendors and they’ve done their best to bring more of those vendors in," wrote Roberts in an email to Winchester Patch Tuesday. "The lists for both stores are a bit longer so there should be something for everyone there."
