Martial Arts Studio to Open Saturday in Winchester

Elite Freestyle Karate, 750 Main St., is expected to have a grand opening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12.

A new martial arts studio will be opening its doors to customers Saturday morning in Winchester, according to an email from the lead instructor.

Elite Freestyle Karate, which has two other locations in Reading and Wilmington, will be having a grand opening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 on the second floor at 750 Main St. in Winchester, according to an email sent to Winchester Patch from head instructor Tyler Stahl.

"For the past 20-plus years Elite Freestyle Karate & Fitness has helped thousands of children improve their confidence, focus, self-discipline, respect (and) leadership in addition to invaluable life skills," reads the Elite Freestyle Karate website. "FK programs are taught in a highly energetic, motivated, safe, fun and enjoyable state of the art facility.

"We begin by teaching students valuable life skills in a positive family environment. Students will develop an overall winning attitude committed to goal setting and success."

The martial arts studio offers flexible class schedules Monday through Saturday, according to the website.

Among the activities planned for the grand opening are martial arts demonstrations, free introductory lessons, face painting, wood breaking and a visit from Mickey & Minnie.

Children, who can start as young as 3 years old, can be enrolled online by filling out a form in the FAQ section of the website. The martial arts studio offers a variety of group plans, according to the site.
