Masa Offers Up Southwest and Spanish Fusion

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Winchester Patch picks a great restaurant either in the city or nearby that is worth checking out in our feature.

Here's this week's choice:

Overview: features an eclectic menu of Southwestern and Spanish delights. You’ll find lots of delicious fusions from their selection of tapas, entrees and cocktails. On Thursday nights, Masa livens it up with Salsa lessons and dancing.

Decor: The dimly-lit restaurant has a sleek modern design with touches of old world décor. Large pieces of artwork adorn the walls and the bar is light up with a faint red glowing light.

Drinks: Along with some standard draught and bottled beer and wine-by-the-glass, you’ll find a list of cocktails with unique flavor combinations. Their signature drink is their Habanero Watermelon Margarita but do check out their newest cocktail—the Apple Mojito.

Bar Menu: The bar menu is a great deal for your money, especially the tapas. Each tapa is $1 and you can get a combo platter of all the tapas for $10 (or $5 on certain nights). They also have a dinner menu with smaller portions and smaller price tags.

Entrees: Masa serves brunch on the weekends, lunch during the week and dinner every night. You can have tapas and the Bar Menu every day except Sunday. Try their Grilled Achiote Shrimp Tacos or Santa Fe Style Eggs Benedict atop Southwestern Biscuits.

Desserts: Masa’s desert menu is unique to say the least. Try the Chocolate Plantain Flautas with cinnamon banana ice cream.

Service: You can sit at the bar or have table service for the bar menu in the bar seating area. Or sit in one of their various booths or tables for regular menu and service.
