Stone Hearth Pizza Licensing Given the Green Light

New restaurant could be up and running by end of summer.

 

Stone Hearth Pizza will be opening at 528 Main Street after the Board of Selectmen granted co-owner Jonathan Schwartz a Common Victualler License. Schwartz told the board after 12 weeks of construction starting in May, doors could open up by the end of the summer. Massachusetts law requires a Victualler License for all establishments capable of cooking, preparing and serving food.

Stone Hearth pizza is moving into the storefront vacated by the closing of  The new owners plan to submit plans for a building permit now that the license is secured. The former T Michaels storefront will be renovated to add the kitchen and 70 seats for patrons.

Stone Hearth Pizza serves Neapolitan style, thin crust pizza, along with gourmet salads and a selection of wine and beer at their Allston, Belmont, Cambridge and Needham locations.

Schwarz said he was planning on applying for a liquor license at some point this week. The town of Winchester has one full liquor license available, but Schwarz said he would stick to the model of his other shops in serving beer and wine only.
