What's Open on Labor Day in Winchester

Find out what's open and closed in Winchester on Labor Day.

As Labor Day unofficially marks the last day of summer (it's actually Sep. 21), many businesses and companies around town celebrate the day by trying to go away one last time or have one more barbecue.

The summer is also winding down for Winchester students who will start their school year this Wednesday.

Even though Labor Day is a national holiday, that doesn't mean everything in Winchester is closed, but if you plan on heading into the town center, here's some advice:

*Keep in mind, a number of the businesses in the downtown area are locally owned and operated, so call before you head over to do some shopping.

If you decide to head into Boston, the MBTA Commuter Line is running on a Sunday schedule. So, for the most part, that means a train will run approximately every two hours. That goes for both the Winchester and Wedgemere train stations.

The last train leaves the Winchester Station at 9:26 p.m. and at the Wedgemere station two minutes later. The final train of the evening is scheduled to leave North Station and head to Winchester at 11:30 p.m., so be sure you don't stay out too late.
