What's Open, Closed on Thanksgiving

Find out what's closed on Thanksgiving this year.

Don't forget about these closings during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Government: All state, city and county offices are closed Thursday and Friday.
Federal Offices will be closed Thursday, and no mail will be delivered.

Banks: Local banks will be closed Thursday.

School: Winchester schools will have early release Wednesday and are out for the rest of the week. Kids will return to school Monday, Nov. 26.

Library: Winchester Public Library will close early on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 5:30 p.m. and will remain closed for Thanksgiving.

Services: The Recreation Center and Jenks Center will be closed Thursday.

Grocery: Retail and liquor stores will also be closed. Some supermarkets, convenience stores and restaurants may be open, especially in the morning, but most will be closed as well in the afternoon and evening.

If you’re driving today, check Winchester Patch’s live interactive traffic map before leaving your home. And if you’re taking the MBTA Commuter Line (or the subway or buses), be aware that trains are running on a Sunday schedule.
