Winchester Pharmacy is Open For Business

Winchester Pharmacy opened its doors to customers Monday morning, according to the company's Facebook page.

"Winchester Pharmacy is opening the doors (Monday)," reads the Winchester Pharmacy Facebook page. "Stop by if you're in the area."

"At Winchester Pharmacy we are proud to offer an independent alternative for your pharmacy needs," reads the Facebook page. "We strive to provide our patients a quality of service that exceeds the average pharmacy. We are local, independently owed and operated pharmacy offering personalized care one patient at a time."

Winchester Pharmacy, located at 568 Main St. at the intersection of Church and Main Streets in Winchester Center, has opened up shop at the former Winchester Drug space. 

In an announcement on Winchester Patch, longtime Winchester Drug pharmacy technician Sydna Anderson wrote to customers, "It is with tremendous sadness and regret that after 45 years of your friendship and loyalty to me, I must say goodbye. After eight decades Winchester Drug is forced to closed their doors. The Winchester Community was very fortunate to have an independent pharmacy for so many years. The chain pharmacy insurance cards and mandatory mail order has made it impossible to continue."

Winchester Pharmacy will offer a variety of services, including medication management, prescription drugs, special packaging, free delivery service and free customer card, according to the company's website. Additional services include Rx-only prescriptions, disposal of expired drugs, travel and vaccination advice, free informational material and compression stockings, the site adds.

Store hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, according to the website.
