  • The process of burning calories requires an adequate supply of water in order to function efficiently; dehydration slows down the fat-burning process. You must stay hydrated.
  • Burning calories creates toxins, and water plays an important role in flushing them out of your body.
  • Water carries every nutrient, mineral, vitamin, protein and hormone in your body to its destination.
  • The average adult loses up to 12 cups of water per day, which is just through necessary bodily processes like respiration and perspiration. Add exercise to this and you can imagine how much water your body loses per day.
  • Water helps maintain muscle tone by assisting muscles in their ability to contract, and it lubricates your joints. Proper hydration can help reduce muscle and joint soreness when exercising.
  • A healthy (weight loss) diet should include a good amount of fiber. But while fiber is normally helpful to your digestive system, without enough fluids it can cause constipation instead of helping to eliminate it.
  • Drinking water with a meal may make you feel full sooner and therefore satisfied eating less. Sometimes you might think that you are hungry but you may actually just be thirsty. Always have a tall glass of water before you eat just to make sure you ARE hungry and not thirsty.

Now you know the importance of drinking plenty of water. Keep coming to bootcamp consistently, eat healthy, drink lots of water and you will be on your way to a healthy and fit new you.
