5 Things You Need to Know Today: November 10

Winchester High soccer teams compete in quarterfinals. Boys' team at home against Belmont at 2:30 p.m.

1. , from 10 to 10:45 a.m., will be followed by , 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Winchester Public Library. Instructor Maria Esther Gomez will teach children, ages 4 to 6, basic Spanish in the morning, while adults will meet up to practice their Spanish after.

2. The second-to-last Flu Clinic at the Jenks Center will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. The last will be held Monday, Nov. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. .

3. The top-seeded Winchester High boys' soccer team (17-0-2) will host a familiar opponent in No. 9 Belmont (11-5-3) in the quarterfinals of the Division 2 North sectional at 2:30 p.m. at Knowlton Stadium. The Sachems defeated Belmont 4-1 and 4-2 in Middlesex League action earlier this season. Both teams are coming off in the opening round.

4. The No. 10 Winchester High girls' soccer team (13-6-0) has rolled through the Division 1 North sectional thus far, but the Sachems will face a tough test at second-seeded Masconomet (16-1-2) in the quarterfinals at 3:30 p.m. in Topsfield. The Cape Ann League champions, Masconomet scored roughly 3.5 goals per game during the regular season, while only giving up 0.5 per game. Winchester outscored its first two tournament opponents, and , by a 13-0 margin.

5. will host its fifth annual Ladies Night Out open house from 4 to 9 p.m. at its Cambridge Street location, in part, to kick off its Christmas Shoppe. There will be wine and cheese tastings, prizes, demonstrations and exhibits from dozens of local businesses specializing in holiday products and services.
