Blizzard Snow Totals 30.2 Inches in Winchester

Winchester unofficially received 30.2 inches of snow as a result of the blizzard that smacked the region Friday and Saturday, according to figures released by the National Weather Service.

Winchester tallied the second highest snow total in Middlesex County behind Framingham's 30.5 inches, according to the data.

The numbers published by the NWS came from observers, spotters and media collected during the storm. The Winchester number was recorded at 3:19 a.m. Saturday.

Figures from nearby communities include 28 inches for Somerville, 26 inches for Cambridge, 24 inches for Medford, 22.5 inches for Melrose, 22 inches for Stoneham and 20 inches for Malden.
