Today is Friday, Dec. 16. Here are five things you need to know.

  1. Sunny and windy: The rain moves, but the warm weather remains. According to the National Weather Service, the high Friday for is expected to be 50 degrees. It should be mostly sunny throughout the day with wind gusts up to 23 mph. Temperatures will drop to 27 degrees by Friday night.
  2. Night of the Arts: The on Friday, Dec. 16 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. to promote entrepreneurship, art and enriched education. All revenue earned from the event will go primarily towards the American Studies trip to Chicago. Tickets can be purchased at and cost $10 for adults and $5 for students.
  3. Winter Parking: The winter parking ban is an effect. Vehicles parked on the street between 1 and 7 a.m. are subject to fines. Any vehicles parked on the street during a snow emergency may be fined and towed.
  4. Flu shot: The Winchester Board of Health has flu vaccine; flu shots and FluMist. Supplies are limited. If interested, please contact Kathy Whittaker, Public Health Nurse at 781-721-7121 to arrange for an appointment.
