Today is Thursday, Dec. 22. Here are five things you need to know.

  1. Some snow: It should be a nice day, but once the sun goes down it could get uncomfortable. According to the National Weather Service, the high Thursday is expected to be 52 degrees. It should be mostly sunny throughout the day. By Thursday night there’s a chance of rain, which could switch over to snow by early Friday morning, eventually going back to rain for the Friday commute.
  2. School Choice: parents have until Thursday, Dec. 22 to submit their choice regarding
  3. Coats for Kids: is participating in "Coast for Kids.” They are looking for all sizes from Pre-K through adult large. Hammond asks that you drop off all coats at their office, 552 Main Street, across from Starbucks. The last day to drop off coats is Jan. 8.
  4. Charges Dropped: A former priest at who was charged with sexually abusing a child in 2002,
  5. Winter Parking: The winter parking ban is an effect. Vehicles parked on the street between 1 and 7 a.m. are subject to fines. Any vehicles parked on the street during a snow emergency may be fined and towed.
