Today is Wednesday, Feb. 16. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. That’s more like it: Finally, the weather will be getting warmer today. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Wednesday will be surpassing 40 degrees and be partly sunny.
  2. In case you’re thinking about buying a home: Understanding the process and the market as well as being prepared is the key to success.  Join Cindy Houle from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the office for a that will discuss the current market conditions, the loan process, the purchase process, all the costs of purchasing a home and the importance of a home inspection.
  3. Town Meetings: The School Committee will be meeting tonight at at 6 p.m. for a special meeting where they will be discussing the Fiscal Year ’12 budget. On Tuesday, Feb. 15, the town submitted its final budget that Town Meeting will vote on in the spring.
  4. Orchid Festival: Be sure to head by in Winchester to take a look at their . Mahoney’s will display custom-designed exhibits showcasing orchids and a variety of flowering houseplants.
  5. In case you missed it: is almost completely rebuilt. The next addition will be , and the Winchester Field Development Council is looking for people to purchase bricks or plaques to help fund the remaining cost of the field.
