Today is Thursday, Feb. 17. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Still getting warmer: Temperatures will continue to climb today. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Thursday will be approaching 50 degrees and will be mostly sunny. There’s a chance of some rain after 11 p.m., which would then lead to some fog beginning at around 1 a.m.
  2. Rise the movie: It’s a one-night-only event that will commemorate the US Figure Skating team that died in a plane crash 50 years ago. People interested in watching the film can head to the Burlington AMC Theater at 8 p.m. to view the documentary. RISE will not only focus on the team, but also the Winchester family – – who were killed in the crash.
  3. Now is the time to learn about solar energy: Cool Winchester invites you to an.  The presentation will provide an overview of solar technology and will explain how Massachusetts residents can reduce their energy consumption and protect their planet. The discussion will take place at the from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  4. Basketball game: is conducting its annual fifth Grade vs. the faculty fundraiser. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. And the game begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, $15 max per family.
  5. No more ban: The that was placed on the town to allow the to clear snow off the streets has been lifted. However, there is still no overnight parking in Winchester until the winter is over.
