Today is Monday, Feb. 21. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Here comes the snow: It’s been a few weeks since any significant snow last fell on Winchester. But don’t worry; it won’t be a lot. According to the National Weather Service, snow will start sometime after 5 a.m. and should taper off by 1 p.m. on Monday. In the end, there shouldn’t be more than two inches of snow on the ground.
  2. Enjoy the day: Hopefully you don’t have to work today as all government offices and some businesses will be taking the day off for Presidents’ Day. There will be no town meetings on Monday.  
  3. Less traffic: But if you do have to head into work this morning, there shouldn’t be that much traffic on the road. Schools are also closed today, and students will be off the whole week, so there should be no buses clogging up the roads.
  4. Orchid Festival: Be sure to head by in Winchester to take a look at their . Mahoney’s will display custom-designed exhibits showcasing orchids and a variety of flowering house-plants.
