Today is Wednesday, Feb. 1. Here are five things you need to know.

  1. Some rain: No snow in the forecast, but there is more rain. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Wednesday is expected to be 52 degrees. There’s a chance of some rain showers throughout the day. By 3 p.m. the rain should move out of the area and it should become sunny.  
  2. Trivia bee: The (WFEE) prepares for the club’s . If you would like to participate in the Bee or become a corporate sponsor, contact Ceci Cordeiro at (781) 729-3192. The registration deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 1.
  3. Cabaret: The Winton Club Cabaret 2012 presents its “It’s About Time” to benefit Jan. 31 through Feb. 4, in the Winchester Town Hall Auditorium. Tickets are $10. The first show is Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. For more information and tickets, go to their site
  4. Office hours: Winchester Patch Local Editor, Dan Marra, will be at Starbucks on Main Street today from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. If you’re around, stop by and say hi.
  5. Town Election: Looking to get involved in town government? The Board of Selectmen, School Committee and Planning Board will each have two seats up for re-election. Interested candidates can pick up nomination papers at the Town Clerk’s office. Friday, Feb. 3 is the last day for candidates to obtain nomination papers and Tuesday, Feb. 7 is the final day to submit them. Town elections will be held on Tuesday, March 27.
